Design Features:
- The headboard doesn't just sit against the wall. It curves right around the bed in a big ruched arc. The fabric folds bunching and curling so the whole thing feels a bit like a cocoon. You lose that usual straight-line headboard look, and honestly the room is softer for it. The bed ends up looking more like a sculpture than furniture.
- Then there's the wall behind it. Tall panels, engraved with waves and little birds, and the lines seem to move a bit as you walk across the room. Get close and you'll see its carved texture, more like relief art than something printed on.
- Hanging over the bed is a fabric piece in soft gold and cream, all folds and creases, kind of like it got frozen halfway through flying off somewhere. It's on thin cables and comes down fairly low. Good choice, because up near the ceiling it would've looked like an afterthought.
- Either side of the bed you've got round fluted nightstands. Their vertical ribs? Same rhythm as the wave pattern on the wall, which is a nice touch. Tall lamps with slim metal bases sit on top and throw a warm glow over what's otherwise a pretty neutral room.
- The floor is a different story. Under the bed there's a thick ivory shag rug and it really stands out against all that cool polished marble. It anchors the seating at the foot of the bed too and in a room this shiny and hard, having something soft underfoot makes a big difference.
