A majlis is measured in guests, not in square metres.

Low seating runs the full perimeter so nobody sits with their back to the room. The ceiling, the lighting and the mashrabiya are drawn around the conversation, not the other way round.

Majlis Designs

A majlis design is one of the most culturally specific interior problems in the UAE. The room exists to host, and the hosting has its own set of rules: formal seating, generous scale, and materials that communicate welcome without being impractical. StudioInco designs majlis spaces that honor all of this. Our small majlis design work proves that scale is not what makes a majlis feel right. Proportion, seating depth, and the quality of the upholstery and carpentry matter far more than square footage. For arabic majlis design, we draw on traditional regional forms while ensuring the room works for how clients actually entertain today. The majlis design for home projects we handle range from dedicated reception wings in villas to single-room configurations in apartments and townhouses. Our modern majlis design projects reinterpret the traditional form using contemporary materials: clean-edged seating, controlled material palettes, and layered lighting. Every arabic majlis interior design we deliver is built around the room's core purpose: genuine hospitality.
