Design Features:
- The ceiling piece does all the talking here. Gold mesh pours down out of the cove ceiling in loose folds, more like a piece of textile art than a light fixture. You see it before you see anything else in the room.
- Four separate sofa clusters sit around the room rather than running along one long wall. Each cluster gets its own marble coffee table, so guests can break off into smaller conversations without losing the sense of one shared room.
- Beige carries the bulk of the palette. Olive and deep teal cushions sit on top of it, just enough colour to stop the neutrals from going quiet. The tone stays soft under daylight and picks up warmth once the lamps and chandelier take over in the evening.
- A tall wall of glass runs behind a carved Islamic screen, so the sun gets broken up into pattern rather than pouring straight through. Palm trees show through the lattice rather than through open glass, which softens the light coming in through the afternoon.
- Fluted wood panelling runs along both side walls, paired with book-lined shelving that gives the room a lived-in edge next to all that polish. Boards like HDHMR and veneer are chosen here because they don't warp or swell the way solid timber can under Dubai's humidity, especially with the AC running long hours through summer.
- Off to one side, near the media wall, a slab of marble frames the fireplace, taking the edge off a room that could otherwise lean a little too formal given how large it is.
