Design Features
- The island sits front and center, an oval shape wrapped in dark veined marble that immediately softens the room, since everything around it follows the sharper lines of the G-shaped counter.
- That pendant above it is hard to miss, hundreds of slim wood strips in an amber finish sweeping across the ceiling in a way that feels more like a sculpture someone hung than a light fixture.
- Both counter runs use fluted walnut paneling, and depending on where you're standing in the room, the ridges catch light a little differently each time, giving the cabinetry a bit of movement instead of sitting flat.
- Behind the counter the marble climbs the wall in one continuous bookmatched panel, black veining running through the white stone, so the same material carries from countertop height all the way up.
- Two terracotta leather stools with slim wood legs sit at the island, and with windows covering two full walls, there's rarely a point in the day when the kitchen isn't getting good natural light.
