Design Features:
- Walk in and the wall behind the desk is basically all you see at first. Walnut, floor to ceiling, split into shelves and smoked glass cabinets that hide half their contents.
- Above the desk hangs a ring of crystal, low enough that it's clearly meant to be looked at rather than just switched on. Light hits it and scatters sideways across the wood instead of dropping straight down, which keeps all that dark walnut from swallowing the room. There's a cove built into the ceiling right where it sits so it looks almost like it's floating.
- Desk's got a black stone base, glass panel running along the front of it. Weight up top, air underneath. Studies like this one across the city use that same trick a lot, stone gives it presence, glass stops the floor from vanishing under the bulk.
- Side wall's got a fluted panel, vertical lines cut into it, not loud, just enough grain to keep things interesting without stealing the spotlight from the shelving. Most jobs like this use HDHMR with a walnut veneer rather than solid wood, and honestly that's less about looks and more about the AC running nonstop, solid timber moves with that, veneer over board doesn't.
- Cream leather chair, a rug that looks intentionally a little worn. Two small brass sconces flank the panel wall and you'd probably miss them on a first pass through, but take them away and that whole wall just goes flat.
