Design Features:
- The desk is the first thing you notice, oval, cream, wrapped in a thin gold line. Simple, really. But put it front and centre under that pendant and it just works, no extra styling needed to make the point.
- Books behind glass, lit from within, on both side walls. It's a small trick but it changes the whole feel of storage in a room like this, shelves stop being just shelves and start doing double duty as decor.
- The wall is between those two cabinets where the money's at, honestly. Onyx, honey coloured, veined like something out of a quarry photograph. They left it unlit behind the stone, smart move, since the pattern alone does more than any spotlight could.
- That chandelier overhead isn't stacked evenly, the gold rings sit slightly off angles, and that's exactly why it doesn't read as generic. Brass sconces further along the wall echo the gold tone but not perfectly, close enough to feel connected, different enough to avoid looking matched from a catalogue.
- Marble floor, dark trim along the edges. Cooler than carpet, easier to maintain and better suited to how hot it gets here for months at a time. Then there's the drapery blush toned which is softening a room.
