Design Features:
- A circular medallion cuts into the ceiling directly above the arch. Aged gold, lit from the rim rather than a single fixture overhead. The chandelier hangs into that recess instead of off a plain ceiling. One built feature, not two separate pieces stacked together.
- The niche wall carries a weathered, almost antique finish. Grey and cream bleed into each other rather than sitting in one flat tone. A circular calligraphy medallion sits at eye level inside it, small enough that the wall stays the main event.
- Twin bookcases flank the arch. Small urns, framed photos, stacked books at staggered heights on each side. Pampas grass fills the gaps beside them, tall enough to soften what would otherwise be two heavy, formal towers of storage.
- A geometric lattice panel sits above the arch itself, dark and dense against the pale stone below it. The pointed arch shape underneath borrows more from Gothic architecture than typical mihrab styling, an unusual pairing that still reads as cohesive here.
- Three prayer rugs sit in a row on light wood flooring, grey and gold borders repeating down the line. Two deep green velvet ottomans sit tucked beside the bookcases, more seating than storage, clearly meant to be used rather than just displayed.
