Design Features:
- Two full rows of arch-patterned prayer mats run the length of the floor, dark navy against a gold border. This isn't a one-person setup. It's built for a family praying side by side, which changes the whole scale of the room compared to a single corner nook.
- A circular calligraphy panel sits inside the niche instead of a flat inscription across the wall. Dark bronze, set against the lit stone behind it. It reads less like religious signage and more like a framed piece someone chose deliberately.
- Espresso wood panelling wraps the far wall floor to ceiling. Only the arch breaks it, plus a slim mashrabiya divider off to the side. Light bleeds through the fretwork in a scattered pattern. Enough to stop a dark, heavy wall from closing the room in.
- A low bookshelf sits opposite the arch. A single lantern, a stack of well-worn spines, nothing curated about it. Far enough back to stay out of the main wall's way. Close enough that it clearly gets used.
- A single potted plant and a slim vase with dried branches sit near the niche. Only greenery in a room that's otherwise all wood and stone. Small addition. Keeps the space from tipping fully monochrome.
