Design Features:
- "Allah" is carved into an arched surface with heavy, almost stucco-like texture, backlit gently at the edges. That texture is what catches the shadow. A flat panel couldn't do this and it's what gives the whole arch its sculpted.
- Twin niches flank the arch also, each one recessed and holding three shelves of candles, books and small ceramic vases. Symmetry down to the shelf. Light runs behind each one, so the whole display glows on its own, nothing overhead required.
- A dark wood ledge sits beneath the arch, roughly seating height, a small plant and a lantern set on either end. This is the one material that isn't white. Just that single break in tone stops the wall from going completely flat.
- Brass sconces flank the arch, matched in height on both sides. Their glow does two jobs at once, lighting the wall and blurring the line where the textured niche meets the plain surface around it.
- A grey and cream prayer rug centres itself on white marble. Its mihrab border is pulling the same shape as the above arch. Outside the frame near curtains, one tall plant sits alone and the single piece of greenery in a room built otherwise from stone and texture.
