Design Features
- The ceiling is painted black and a single curved cove light runs along it right over the barber chairs. It’s the brightest line in the room so new clients follow it with their eyes almost without thinking. By the time they’ve taken a few steps inside they already know how the whole salon is laid out.
- Slim vertical LED bars frame each mirror. With light coming in evenly on both sides of the face barbers can pick out every fade line and the exact edge of a beard.
- Polished black tiles cover the floor and pick up a mirror image of the LED bars and chrome chair bases. That reflection makes the room feel deeper. Wet polished tiles can get slippery though. Near the basins anti-slip tiles are the sensible choice.
- The first thing clients meet is a curved black reception desk. Without sharp corners in the way clients flow in and out more smoothly. The backlit wall behind it gives a men’s salon in Dubai a strong brand moment.
- Next to the desk lit open shelves put the grooming range on show for anyone who wants to take a product home. After a walk through the midday sun outside the dark tones and soft warm light feel calm and cool. It’s the kind of place clients are happy to linger in.
