Design Features
- Above the cutting zone the ceiling is fitted with hexagon LED frames that link up in a honeycomb pattern. In a tall room like this it’s the first thing people look at. It also does a practical job by spreading light evenly across every chair.
- The main wall is finished in soft grey microcement with a light cloudy texture. There are no joints anywhere so a quick wipe is all it takes to clean. Seal it well and it holds up nicely against the humidity we get in the UAE.
- Three backlit mirrors run along the wall with black metal tool racks fitted in between. Barbers have their clippers, products and towels right next to them. They don’t waste time reaching around and the counters stay clutter free.
- Hair washing has a corner of its own just beside the cutting area. Clients lie back in reclining basin chairs there. Keeping the basins apart means far less risk of water reaching the clippers and dryers at the styling stations. It’s also quieter so a wash feels like a few minutes of proper downtime.
- The windows are tall and the double-height room gets a lot of natural light. The catch is that all this glass can turn the room into a heat trap during a UAE summer. Fitting solar control glass is the long term answer. Good quality blinds work well too and are easier on the budget.
