Design Features
- Straight razors set in a chevron pattern cover the black panels between the mirrors. It’s a classic barber tool turned into wall art and a nod to the strong beard grooming culture across the UAE.
- A pair of ribbed glass sconces flanks each mirror. Their tall grooved shades are a detail you’d find in any 1920s Deco lobby. With light falling from left and right barbers can see the face clearly and deep shadows stay away.
- The reception counter is clad in ebony wood veneer and finished with a black marble top shot through with gold. Beneath the veneer is an HDHMR board chosen for its moisture resistance. Seal every edge well and the counter stays stable through the damp months instead of swelling.
- Soft textured fabric panels cover the upper part of the walls. Dryers and conversation can get loud in a barbershop and these panels absorb a good share of that noise.Stain resistant fabric is a practical choice since it keeps cleaning quick and easy.
- A group of Edison bulb pendants hangs by the entrance and fills that corner with warm light. Further in the brown leather barber chairs sit in a neat row on polished metal bases. The open niches hold horse sculptures as a small salute to Arabian heritage.
