Design Features

  • The ceiling is left open with ducts, beams and cables all on show. A coat of black paint covers everything. The pipes blend into the dark and the room feels taller.
  • Every station gets its own mirror shaped a bit like a river pebble with a bronze rim. There’s a warm glow coming from behind each one. All those soft curves take the edge off the rough ceiling.
  • Running under the mirrors is a long brushed bronze console that curves back on itself at the far end. All stylists work off this same counter. Drawers underneath hold their tools.
  • A large oval mirror leans against a block of rough cut stone. It looks more like a gallery piece than a mirror. The raw stone next to polished metal adds a natural touch to the industrial space.
  • Small clusters of black cylinder pendants hang across the room. Each shade has a gold lining with tiny flecks inside. Sunlight comes in through the tall windows and sheer curtains soften it.

FAQs

Can an open ceiling really work in a hair salon?

It can as long as someone keeps it clean. Hairspray mist and dust slowly coat the ducts and beams. Bare ceilings also bounce sound around the room. With regular care an open ceiling adds a relaxed loft look to any salon interior design.

Is textured plaster a smart pick for salon walls?

It is once it’s sealed. Lime plaster has a soft cloudy finish that changes slightly from patch to patch. If not sealed properly, it soaks oils and any product that splashes on it.

Why do so many salons go with stone look porcelain floors?

Because they look like real stone without the fuss. Dye and water stays on the surface. Each zone can use tiles with the right slip rating to keep wet areas safe.

Is track lighting worth it for a hair salon?

Yes. The heads slide along the rail and tilt so moving a station later isn’t a problem. Bulbs with a high colour rendering index show hair colour the way it really looks. A commercial interior decorator can plan the rail layout to light each chair well without causing glare on the mirrors.

What goes into a budget for opening a salon in Dubai?

The fit out comes first. After that it’s furniture, styling gear, lighting and approvals. Leaving the ceiling open saves on a false ceiling but painting and duct cleaning still need to be paid for. An early interior design estimate shows how these items add up.
